Trying out photoshop

Original:

Filters:
In these images i simply changed the filter to the image which changes the colour and light to suit the image without over exposure.

Background change:
Here I learnt how to manipulate just the background of an image and add to it with affecting the main focus on the image, this will be useful for if I need to change a background to fit my theme better.

Manipulation of one aspect:
I then discovered how to manipulate one part of the main focus so that I could change this in my real images if I needed to whether that be for shape or colour; in this instance colour.

Text:
Lastly I worked out how add text to an image as this will be a crucial part of my imagery being on a billboard and on the front of a magazine so this will help massively.

Response to tutorials

After researching tutorials I have opened my mind to the different methods and aspects of an image I can manipulate to the way I want it. I will test out a random image with Photoshop just so I can establish all the different features with the potential to use them in my real images and get experience with it too. It has widened my eyes to how easily a photo can be changed even if the image is not exactly the outcome you wanted. This can include lighting, effects, filters, shapes within the image and small embellishments.

Progress report

I have actually fallen behind slightly with deadlines for my coursework but I have a plan of action to progress further now. My main focus is to sort my blog out to look neat and tidy, make sure everything is visible within the blog, get as caught up as I can and attend a bridal show on the 25th of Feb to further my knowledge and inspiration as well as use the opportunity to take some photos. I have discovered through the research stage that the wedding genre is much more complicated than what I anticipated.

Imagery will be much harder to capture as weddings are such a personal thing that the permission to take photos is very limited and opportunity to is also very scarce especially when the convention of the genre is to include lots of images. This will be a barrier for me but I am going to try my best to take as many photos as possible.

Social network research and evaluation

I made a small social focus group based on the target audiences I have previosuly discovered, within social media to explore further what my audience would want from a wedding magazine. My first question was what would first attract the audience to the magazine as I have asked this question concerning the website, I wondered if the magazine would be any different. It turns out that it is fairly similar, the audience wants to see a main photo concerning weddings and a big bold title with colours that stand out from the image. This came at no surprise to me.
I then asked what the main focus within the magazine would need to be iin which all of my answers were the same and they agreed on outfits being their main priority when looking through a magazine.

I then thought about what hyperlinked pages on my website I would want and so the responses came back saying venue information would be important and where outfits were from for inspiration.
My last question I repeated what was in my questionnaire just to double check my previous findings were correct and this time round I had a different response was different, they said that images and bold colours would make the audience want to research later into the company proving that each quality to the billboard is just as important as each other.
